Russell "Link" Linkenbach, 75, of Errol, died at his home on Saturday, November 12, 2005, surrounded by his loving family.
Link was born on February 11, 1930 in Newtonville, Mass., son of the late Thomas and Beulah (Post) Linkenbach.
He was graduated from Fryeburg Academy and later served his country honorably in the Air Force and the Marine Corps. He was married to Diane Thurston in 1955, and the couple recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Hundreds of people knew Link from his 33 years at Thurston's Garage, and he will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Link is survived by his loving wife, Diane Linkenbach of Errol; a sister, Joy Mayo of Denver, Colo.; a sister-in-law, Sal Linkenbach of Evans, Ga.; three brothers-in-law, Roland, Eugene and Donald MacKenzie; his son, Michael Linkenbach of Jay, Maine; his daughter, Melinda Donohue of Stratham; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours were held on Monday evening, November 14 at the Jacoby, Newman & Jenkins Funeral Home in Colebrook, with Masonic services conducted by Evening Star Lodge #37, F&AM of Colebrook. A funeral service was held on Tuesday afternoon at the Errol Congregational Church, with Pastor Larry Clough officiating.
